Woking's MAG squad had 14 gymnasts competing at the South East Grades Qualifiers competition held at Pegasus Gymnastics Club.
Competing in his first competition for Woking, Joshua Wiltshire performed well in the Level O category. Josh performed some lovely routines and finished in 2d place scoring 51.150.
Woking had five gymnasts competing in the Level 1 category. Aaron Prinsloo was the star of 18 gymnasts competing, winning the all-around title with a score of 60.750. Alfie Collins performed some lovely routines but unfortunately made a number of silly errors, still finishing in 4th place scoring 57.200. Ruben Murdzhanov performed a clean competition finishing in 9th place scoring 49.200. Joseph Waterer performed well finishing 12th scoring 47.850 and Bayden Freeland competing for the first time for Woking showed some neat clean routines finishing 13th scoring 42.150. Aaron and Alfie have qualified for the Blakeborough South East Team and Ruben and Joseph qualifying for the Currier South East Team. Bayden is the first reserve for the Currier South East Team.
Woking also had five gymnasts competing in the Level 2 category. Woking's MAG gymnasts shone again with William Brierly having a very good competition and taking home the all-around title with a score 61.150. Edward unfortunately made a few of costly mistakes, but with this said, he still managed to obtain 3rd place due to the maturity of his gymnastics scoring 58.450. Sam Arnold performed some beautiful routines finishing 4th scoring 57.250.
All three gymnasts have qualified for the Blakeborough South East Team. William Tombs
performed some of his cleanest routines and finished 10th scoring 50.650 and Jude Rawlings had a couple of costly errors finishing 11th scoring 45.700. Both William and Jude have qualified for the Currier Soth East Team.
William Middleton competed in the Level 3 category and performed some solid routines finishing 2nd with a score of 53.350. William also qualified for the Currier South East Team.
Woking's final two gymnasts were Mac Griffiths and Fionn Kelly competing in the Level 4 category. Mac performed some really clean routines finishing 2nd place with a score of
57.100. Fionn performed well, only recovering from a fractured toe a week before the competition. He powered through finishing a credible 5th place scoring 53.00. Both Mac and Fionn qualified for the Blakeborough South East Team.
In total 12 gymnasts will represent the South East across six different age categories. This is again more than any other club in the region. A massive congratulations to all gymnasts and coaches in the MAG team. The dedication and commitment from all is amazing and we look forward to the National Finals in November.
